Welcome to 1838

Ground Floor Hall

Walk down the gradual ramp where carriages once rolled under the porte cochere, delivering guests to this place. Enter Elmwood through the old french door next to the flickering gas lantern, and transport yourself back into the 19th century.

The hall not only communicates to each of the rooms on this level, it serves spendidly also as a place for transmission of sound through the house and therefore is frequently used for situating live music.
